Genesee School District is proud to serve nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet rigorous federal nutrition standards. Each meal supports student learning and wellness by providing the right mix of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy.
What’s on the Menu
Our school meals include:
Fresh fruits and vegetables every day (students must choose at least one).
A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green, red/orange, and legumes.
All whole-grain options.
Fat-free flavored or 1% white milk.
Balanced portions with age-appropriate calorie limits and reduced sodium.
Healthy Habits Start Here
At Genesee, we believe healthy eating fuels learning. Encourage your student to:
Fill half their plate with fruits and veggies.
Choose whole grains and lean proteins.
Drink water or milk instead of sugary drinks.
Limit foods high in added sugars, salt, and saturated fats.
