Genesee School District is proud to serve nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet rigorous federal nutrition standards. Each meal supports student learning and wellness by providing the right mix of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy.

What’s on the Menu

Our school meals include:

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables every day (students must choose at least one).

  • A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green, red/orange, and legumes.

  • All whole-grain options.

  • Fat-free flavored or 1% white milk.

  • Balanced portions with age-appropriate calorie limits and reduced sodium.

Healthy Habits Start Here

At Genesee, we believe healthy eating fuels learning. Encourage your student to:

  • Fill half their plate with fruits and veggies.

  • Choose whole grains and lean proteins.

  • Drink water or milk instead of sugary drinks.

  • Limit foods high in added sugars, salt, and saturated fats.
