⚾ You’re Invited: Cuneaz Softball Field Naming Ceremony ⚾

Please join us for a special and meaningful occasion as we officially dedicate and name the Cuneaz Softball Field at Genesee High School.

Chris Cuneaz, a 1997 graduate of Genesee, tragically passed away in 1998 due to complications from a car accident. In her memory, the Cuneaz family has created a lasting legacy of support for Genesee student-athletes.

Since 2000, Harry Cuneaz has awarded the Chris Amanda Cuneaz Scholarship annually to a Genesee student-athlete. For more than 25 years, the Cuneaz family has helped countless students pursue their educational goals and athletic dreams.

In recognition of their generosity, dedication, and unwavering commitment to Genesee, we are proud to name the softball field in their honor.

Join us as we celebrate this lasting legacy and honor the profound impact the Cuneaz family has had on generations of student-athletes.

Subject: We Want Your Input on AI in Education

Dear Families and Community Members,

Our district is participating in a statewide Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education Survey in partnership
with the Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators (MASA) and Hanover Research.

We invite families, caregivers, and community members to share their perspectives on how AI is being
used in education and what considerations matter most as schools continue to explore these tools. Your
feedback will help us better understand community experiences, questions, and priorities related to AI.

The survey takes approximately 8-10 minutes to complete and is available in multiple languages. Results
will be shared with our district and used to inform decisions about how AI can be implemented safely,
responsibly, and in ways that benefit students and staff.

Thank you for partnering with us and helping ensure our approach to AI reflects the values and voices of
our broader community.

Dear Parents and Families,

Due to roof leaks and water accumulation in the Senior High wing of the building, we dismissed all Senior High students today at 9:45 AM as a precautionary safety measure. Maintenance is working to address the issue; however, we made this decision to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.

Junior High classes continued to operate as normal for the remainder of the school day.

For students who attend Genesee Career Institute (GCI), those programs are continuing as scheduled. Attendance at GCI was optional due to the early dismissal.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. If you have any questions, please contact the main office.

🏀🎳 Winter Sports Recap & Spring Season Kickoff – Go Genesee! 🌱

As we close the chapter on another exciting winter sports season, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of our Genesee Wolves student-athletes and teams.

Our Varsity Girls Basketball team put together one of the most historic seasons in school history. The Wolves set a school record for wins in a single season, captured the GAC Red Division regular season championship, and brought home an MHSAA District Championship. The team also received tremendous recognition across the region with consistent coverage on local news stations.

Several individual accomplishments highlighted the season:

⭐ Averie Zinn capped off her remarkable career by surpassing the 2,000 career point milestone and finishing 3rd all-time on Michigan’s high school girls basketball scoring list.
⭐ Reginae Randle had a historic year on the glass, finishing the season with 328 rebounds, placing her on the MHSAA leaderboard for rebounds in a single season.

The Wolves were also well represented in the GAC Red All-Conference selections:

🏀 First Team: Averie Zinn, Reginae Randle, Kaprice Miner
🏀 Second Team: Kiera Little, Rebekah Jones
🏀 Honorable Mention: Anijah Johnston

🎳 Our Varsity Boys Bowling team had an outstanding season as well, capturing the GAC Championship, with Hunter Crow advancing to the State Finals as an individual bowler.

🎳 1st Team : Joey Abbe
🎳 2nd Team: Hunter Crow and Landyn Ford
🎳 Honorable Mention: Kaeleb Carnduff

🏀 The Boys Basketball team continued to compete and improve throughout the season, earning several all-conference honors:

• 1st Team: Brandon Rouse
• 2nd Team: Aydin Copper
• Honorable Mention: Delonte Floyd-Blackmon, Ty Dewrock

🏐 We also want to recognize an incredible accomplishment from our Junior High Volleyball program, as both teams completed undefeated seasons this winter. Their dedication, teamwork, and competitiveness were on full display throughout the year and represent a bright future for Genesee volleyball.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship displayed by all of our winter athletes and coaches.

🌼 Now we turn the page to spring!

Spring sports are officially underway with Baseball, Softball, and Track & Field beginning their seasons. In addition to our traditional MHSAA sports, we are excited to continue offering Flag Football and to launch a new co-ed Club Golf team this spring.

More updates, schedules, and highlights will be coming soon as the weather warms up.
